Calgary, AB - 2019 - 2020 Training

We are excited to announce a new series of Sandplay Therapy training modules to begin in 2019 in Calgary, Alberta. These 3-day training modules of 20 hours each will provide 100 hours of theory in partial fulfillment of the requirements for CAST/ISST certification.
Module 1: April 12-14, 2019
Module 2: November 8-10, 2019
Module 3: Spring 2020
Module 4: TBA

Pricing (per module):
CAST Members: $600
Non Members: $650
One-time Administrative Fee (Module 1 only): $50
ATTENTION: If you haven't completed the previous module, please contact Beatrice Donald at beadonald@shaw.ca or Barbara Dalziel at barbara.dalziel@sympatico.ca BEFORE attempting to register for a subsequent module.

$150 deposit per module is due on registration. Balance owing will be due 30 days prior to scheduled training. Please pay in Canadian funds or equivalent.

Cancellations are subject to a $75 processing fee and once the balance owing date has passed, will only be refunded if your space can be filled. Registration is be limited to 16 participants.

Kingston, ON - Introductory Training

Module 2 consists of two two-day training components, providing a total of 30 hours of training in Sandplay Therapy towards the 100 hours required for certification with both CAST and ISST.

Montreal, QC - 2018 - 2019 Training - French ONLY

A sandplay training is going to be held in Montreal, in French, in 2018-2019. This 100 hours training begins in February 2018 and is approved by the Ordre des Psychologues du Québec as part of the required continuous education hours (activity number RP02293-17 and RP02294-17). Toronto, ON - 2019 – 2020 Workshop & Training

Two-day Introductory Workshop - Dates: April 27-28 and May 25-26, 2019
The workshop is open to participants with any level of knowledge about Jungian Sandplay Therapy and offers a broad framework including experiential learning, exposure to clinical Sandplay case material, and a detailed review of ISST certification and steps toward achievement. The flyer below outlines the details of the program. No application form or interview is required.

Intensive Modules - Dates TBA in Fall 2019, Spring 2020, Fall 2020.
This series of three 4-day intensives provide a deeper level of theoretical, experiential and clinical learning. It is intended for participants who wish to complete the full CAST Sandplay Training’s didactic component. See the flyer for more detail about its contents. Unlike the Introductory Workshop, admission to this level requires submission of a current CV, the Level I Training Application Form, and an interview with one or both of the Toronto facilitators.

Prior completion of the two-day Introductory Workshop is required to attend these intensives, unless there are exceptional circumstances.

Vancouver, BC - 2017 - 2018 Training

Vancouver trainings for 2018 have been postponed. We anticipate resuming in 2019. Dates will be posted on this website, or you can email Beatrice Donald at beadonald@shaw.ca for more information.

For 2018, CAST is offering four 4-hour introductory sandplay sessions and in-service trainings in Sandplay Therapy. These sessions will be taught by Beatrice Donald, PhD, CAST/ISST, CCC, senior CAST teacher. These hours may be applied toward the 100 hours of theory required for partial fulfillment of certification or practitioner training.

If you are interested in an in-service training, please contact Beatrice at beadonald@shaw.ca to discuss details.

The small group introductory sandplay sessions are limited to four participants and will take place in Vancouver (Burrard and 6th) from 1:30 to 5:45pm on the following Saturdays. The training fee is $90/4hours.

  • How sandplay differs from sandtray: Jungian ideas supporting sandplay practice
  • The development of Sandplay by Dora Kalff
  • Experientials introducing symbols, archetypes, and the sandplay process
  • A sandplay case
  • Reading and website recommendations
  • Information on becoming certified
